Dashing Through the Snow, My Sister on My Back

After a busy morning of trying to get the kids to clean up their rooms, do some additional chores, and eat lunch, it was off to the Woodridge Park District hill to go sledding. Benjamin had already left the house around 12:00pm to help Brother Deem and some other Young Men shovel over at the church. He ended up being gone for about two hours, but didn't return until after Clinton had left with Anna, Emma, and Justin. Once again, they had a blast.

They went up and down the hill time and time again. Most of the time they slid down the hill by themselves, but on occasion, they slid down with one another or altogether. I don't know why Anna and Emma didn't just ride on the sled one in front of the other. It probably made for a lot more fun riding on top. This is one of those rare occasions where the two of them are having fun together. I love it when they have those moments and wish they would happen more often.

They played for about an hour or hour and a half. I'm sure they would have kept playing longer, but Emma got hurt when she slid into a tree and whacked her knee. It was slightly above the spot on the same knee she hurt last weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Buss' house. Through it all, they were in good spirits.

They continued to go outside later in the afternoon. Unfortunately, Justin came into the house after getting hit in the face with a shovel. Emma was building a fort in the backyard and was digging out a spot when Justin got too close. He has a slight scrape or cut under his nose just above his lip. Right now, Anna and Emma are outside again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone doesn't get hurt this time. :)
