Today I took Cameron to the pediatrician for his 2 month visit. It's the visit where he starts getting shots. Not only did he get one shot, two shots, three shots, four shots, five shots, but six shots. I don't recall my other kids getting that many.
Luckily, Cameron only received five shots in his legs and one was actually an oral medicine that was slowly squeezed into his mouth. He kept gagging on it. It's a new experience for him, different than the sucking and swallowing motion that he is use to doing. The pediatrician accidentally scratched Cameron's tummy with one of the needles as she passed it over his body. So he has an additional band-aid and a little more discomfort. Though he does seem to be a bit cranky this afternoon, I can't complain, he really is a good baby. I wish all my kids would have been like him when they were young.
Cameron was born on October 30th, 2011 (ten days past his due date) and born on his Papa James' birthday and Kristin Billings' birthday. He weighed 8.04 lbs. and was 21 inches long. Though he lost weight in the hospital, which is natural to do, he has continued to grow. When he saw the doctor nine days after he was born, he weighed 8.8 lbs. Today, they said he weighed 12.8 lbs and was 24 inches long. His head circumference is in the 50th percentile, his weight is in the 75th percentile, and his length is in the 90th percentile. Wow, what a mother can do for her child!
